On April 1, 2012, Premier Wen Jiabao and Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak jointly attended the launch ceremony of China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (QIP) in Qinzhou, Guangxi. Wen said in his speech that the QIP is a national-level industrial park jointly built by the Chinese and Malaysian governments. The QIP should take full advantage of the superior location and convenient transport conditions of Qinzhou, make scientific planning, operate efficiently, focus on deepening cooperation on traditional industries and actively develop emerging strategic industries so as to serve as a demonstration zone of promoting China-Malaysia investment cooperation. The Chinese government encourages domestic enterprises to expand investment in Malaysia. The two sides can explore jointly to build the industrial park in Malaysia in order to inject new vitality for common development. China-Malaysia relations have withstood the harsh tests of international financial crisis and grown deeply in the political, economic, financial, cultural and other fields in recent years, bringing benefits to the two peoples and contributing significantly to promoting regional peace, stability and prosperity, noted Wen. He firmly believes that the bilateral cooperation will achieve fruitful results and friendly relations will enjoy a better tomorrow with the sincere and unremitting efforts of both sides. Najib said that the QIP was opened smoothly with the great support and active efforts of both sides and will lift the bilateral business cooperation to a higher level and boost the regional cooperation. Malaysia-China relations at present are in the best period of history. The Malaysian side is willing to closely cooperate with China to seize the opportunity and run the park soundly. Malaysia welcomes the investment from Chinese enterprises and the building of economic cooperation park within its territory. He believes that both sides will take the opportunity of the launch of the QIP to push forward the friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation and contribute to promoting the common development of the two countries and the region as well. Wen and Najib laid the cornerstone for the QIP and planted a friendship tree together. Prior to the launch ceremony, the two leaders visited Qinzhou bonded port area together. |
