In March 1993, China and Croatia signed the first "Agreement on Cultural and Educational Cooperation". By the end of 2013, both countries have signed in total six intergovernmental executive plans on cultural cooperation. Cultural institutions of both countries have been realizing fruitful cultural exchanges, maintaining close and friendly exchanges between the two countries.

Croatian Version of Xi Jinping Tells Stories was released in Croatia in November 2019. 2019 is the Year of Culture and Tourism between China and Croatia. Within this framework, the two sides jointly held more than 10 activities, including performances, exhibitions and tourism promotion.
