On April 13th, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Croatia H.E. Mr Hu Zhaoming met with the Assistant Minister of the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education Ms Ivana Franić. The two sides exchanged their views on strengthening exchange and cooperation in the field of education and other issues.
H.E. Ambassador Hu Zhaoming said that last year China and Croatia together celebrated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and bilateral relations have shown new development momentum. Since this year, the bilateral cooperation in economy, trade, tourism and culture is gratifying. Especially, Chinese company's winning the bid for the construction project of Peljesac Bridge, has injected new vigor into the bilateral relations. Chinese side is willing to work together with Croatian Ministry of Science and Education to grasp the current favorable opportunity, promote the high-level exchanges between two sectors of education, strengthen the construction of educational cooperation mechanism, push forward the promotion of Chinese language and Sinology in Croatia and make contributions to greater development of bilateral relations.
Ms Ivana Franić thanked Ambassador Hu Zhaoming for briefing the development of bilateral relations, said that Croatian side is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in the field of education and actively participate in the projects under the framework of "16+1 Cooperation" etc. and promote education cooperation to a new high.
The two sides also discussed promoting Chinese language in Croatian higher education.
