On March 8th, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Mr Hu Zhaoming met with the Croatian Minister of Agriculture, H.E. Mr Tomislav Tolušić. The two sides exchanged views on promoting agricultural cooperation between the two countries. Political Counselor Mr Li Xin and Commercial Counselor Mr Liu Kai from Chinese Embassy also attended the meeting.
H.E. Ambassador Mr Hu Zhaoming said that currently, the bilateral relations keep a good momentum and the bilateral cooperation is expected to achieve a new breakthrough. Cooperation in agriculture is an important part of China-Croatia relations; the agriculture industries of the two countries are complementary and have great potential of cooperation. China welcomes Croatia to actively participate in China International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai this year in November, as well as to introduce more top-quality agricultural products to China. China is willing to strengthen the agricultural technology cooperation with Croatia in the aspect of improving production efficiency improvement, safety ensurance, environmental protection etc., to explore agricultural investment and develop agricultural capacity cooperation and to continue strengthening policy exchanges and personnel communication and training. Ambassador Hu Zhaoming expressed his hope that Croatia would actively participate in the agricultural cooperation under the framework of ''Belt and Road'' and ''16+1 Cooperation'' platforms, promoting bilateral communication and cooperation in agriculture to continuously achieve new progress.
H.E. Mr Tomislav Tolušić said that Croatia attaches great importance to the agricultural cooperation with China and that he would attend the meeting of "16+1" agriculture ministers to be held in Lithuania in the coming May and the 16+1 Investment and Trade Expo that is be held in Ningbo, China in June this year, as well as other events. H.E. Mr Tomislav Tolušić welcomed Chinese companies to visit Croatia and explore the opportunities for agricultural cooperation and he believed that bilateral agricultural cooperation will surely achieve new fruits in 2018.
