On 12th and 13th September, Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping, Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Secretary of Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of CPC H.E. Mr.Meng Jianzhu visited the Republic of Croatia. H.E.Mr. Meng Jianzhu separately met the President of the Republic of Croatia H.E. Mrs. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, the Prime Minister of Croatia H.E. Mr Andrej Plenković and held a meeting with the Minister of Interior of Croatia H.E. Mr. Davor Božinović. The two sides exchanged their views in depth on China-Croatia relations, especially on the bilateral cooperation in law enforcement and anti-terrorism and reached consensus on taking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Croatia as the opportunity to bring the bilateral relations to a new level.
During the visit, H.E. Mr. Meng Jianzhu, together with Minister of Interior H.E. Mr. Davor Božinović, witnessed the signing of the “Memorandum of Understanding Between China and Croatia on Joint Police Patrols During The Tourist Season” between Chinese Ministry of Public Security and Croatian Ministry of Interior. This memorandum will be implemented in the summer of 2018. Chinese police, together with Croatian police forces would jointly patrol in Croatia and provide security services for the tourists. This is the first agreement that Croatia has signed with Asia-Pacific country. Also, Croatia is the first country among the Central East European countries that signed such an agreement with China.
Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Croatia H.E. Mr Hu Zhaoming accompanied the delegation and participated in all the relevant events.
