On March 11th, 2017, Newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador Hu Zhaoming joined in the on-site consular services with the consular section of the Embassy for overseas Chinese in Zagreb and paid a visit to “Kunlun” and the “Great wall” Chinese commodities trade centers. During his visit, Ambassador Hu communicated with the representatives of overseas Chinese in Croatia, got to know their working and living conditions, introduced the spirit of on-going two sessions ( the National People's Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of China ), encouraged the compatriots to continue making an active contribution to Chinese-Croatian relations. Political counsellor, Mr Zhao Deyong and head of consular section, Mr Feng Shaolin joined together.
Ambassador Hu fully affirmed the persistence and optimistic entrepreneurship, pointed out this year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between China and Croatia and bilateral relations stand on the new historic starting point. He hoped that compatriots could care for the construction and development of home country as always, remain steadfast in developing in long term, actively participate in pragmatic cooperation between China and Croatia in all realms, integrate into mainstream society while abiding by the laws and regulations in the host country, actively integrate into the mainstream society, become active part of host country and local community, show and maintain the good image of Chinese. Chinese Embassy in Croatia will carry out the idea of “People first” put forward by Chairman Xi Jinping, stick to the principle of “diplomacy for the people”, continue to care for and support to compatriots in Croatia, protect legitimate rights of overseas Chinese and provide related services for compatriots wholeheartedly.
The representatives of overseas Chinese thanked Ambassador Hu for visiting them the first time he arrived in Croatia, introducing the domestic development and prosperity of China and bringing the care and warmth from home country. They expressed that under the assistance and guidance of the Embassy they would bring forth new ideas for development, expand business lines and make a new contribution to the development of the home country, as well as Chinese-Croatian relations.
