On January 16th, Chinese Ambassador Deng Ying attended the solemn session of Croatian Parliament on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Croatia's international recognition upon invitation. Croatia’s President , Speaker, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers, dignitaries of political, religious and academic life and diplomatic envoys participated in the special session. European Council President Donald Tusk also attended the ceremony.
Parliament Speaker and President of Croatia respectively addressed the ceremony. In their speech, they recalled the efforts for gaining independence, expressed the appreciation for the support of international community and stressed that Croatia should cherish the hard-won freedom and stability and achieve faster development.
European Council President Tusk delivered his speech in Croatian, affirming the amazing achievements that Croatia has made since its international recognition 25 years ago and wishing that Croatia could achieve greater development in the future. He stressed that the European integration road was not even and hoped Croatia can make more contribution to it.
